Meet Our Staff
Sarah Voss
Grades K-3 Teacher
Sarah Voss is our K-3 teacher and a 2024 graduate of Andrews University, where she earned her BS in Elementary Education. During her time at Andrews, she gained valuable experience working at multiple summer camps as a substitute teacher, and at the local college daycare. Sarah Voss shares her home with two wonderful dogs: Reba, a Goldendoodle, and Ruger, An Australian Goldendoodle. She has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys spending her free time at the beach with friends and family or exploring nature. In the classroom, Sarah is dedicated to helping her students see Jesus through her actions and aims to nurture their growth in Christ in every way possible.
Kamran Masih
Principal & Grades 6-8 Teacher
Kamran Masih is our principal and grades 6-8 teacher. He and his wife, Saima, have three children, Misha, Abner and Ethan. He served as a missionary in the Guam Micronesia Mission of Seventh-day Adventists for eight years. He taught grades 5-12 and was the principal of the Kosrae SDA School. He is grateful that God allowed him to come to Cedar Lake to be the 6-8th grade teacher and principal. He enjoys outdoor activities such as sports, hiking, and swimming in his spare time. He also enjoys reading. His desire for all the students at Cedar Lake Elementary is to have a strong relationship with Jesus and know that he is always with them. He wants students to be trained and equipped for worthwhile work for Jesus Christ.
Jodi Thibert
Grade 4-5 Teacher
Jodi Thibert is our grades 4-5 teacher. She and her husband, Nate, have two children, Brynne and Asher. She began her career in 2013 teaching 1st grade for Mt. Pleasant Public School and then went on to teach 2nd grade within the same district for four additional years. Once her children were born, she devoted her time to being a stay-at-home mom and homeschooled for three years. She is so excited to be back in the classroom, and this time combines her passion for teaching with an intense desire to train children to be workers of Jesus.
Anthony Kroll
Chairman
Anthony Kroll is our school board chairman. He has served the school board as vice chair for the two previous years and as an Edmore church representative on the school board. Tony also serves in the Edmore church as an elder and the junior Sabbath school teacher. He is married to Dawn and is a step-dad, dad, and recently became a Father-in-law, to four adult children, Apryl & Kyle, Luke, Elsie, and Owen. Some of the things he enjoys are; doing anything with his family, especially, canoeing, camping, and tinkering. The desire of his heart is for children to know that they are important, and most of all loved by Jesus.
Lynette Gardner
CLE School Secretary
Lynette Gardner is our school secretary. She has been involved in our school in a variety of capacities over the years. She is also our Partner’s For Eternity Coordinator – a mentoring program through the SFFC Foundation. Before coming to Cedar Lake Elementary she was the Kindergarten teacher at Charlotte Adventist Christian School and also worked with the Eaton County Early On Program. She and her husband Todd, who is our school treasurer, have three grown children, Wyatt and his wife Serena, Logan and Sierra. She enjoys reading, cooking, baking, organizing and spending time with family. Her desire for the students at Cedar Lake Elementary is to develop a close relationship with Jesus and to share their love for him with others.
Todd Gardner
Treasurer & IT Assistance
Todd Gardner is our school treasurer and has helped Cedar Lake Elementary for several years in dealing with IT issues. He has also served on our school board as well. Being school treasurer is a job that fits him well as he has his Master’s in Business Administration. He is married to Lynette Gardner and has 3 children – Wyatt, Logan, and Sierra. In his spare time, he enjoys genealogy, ham radio and radio production, and spending time with his family. He looks for ways to help families who want to send their child to a Christian school.
Pastor Ryan Counsell
School Pastor
Pastor Ryan and Marija Counsell were missionaries in Burma before coming to Michigan Conference. They have worked 30 years in Michigan. He enjoys flowers and reading. She enjoys cooking and hikes. They have 3 grown children.
Christianna Greene
Band Teacher
Christianna Greene is our band director we are so blessed to have her on our staff at Cedar Lake SDA Elementary Besides her work at our school, she is also a nurse. She and her husband Eric live here in Cedar Lake, Michigan. When Christianna finds time, she loves to play the piano, take a walk out in the nature, color, and put together jigsaw puzzles. Being able to spend quality time with her family and with her husband really brightens her day. She also really enjoys being able to interact with the students during various activities, events, and just on a daily basis.
Pastor Giancarlo de Miranda
School Pastor
Pastor Giancarlo de Miranda serves as the Senior Pastor of the Cedar Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church and plays an active role in supporting the spiritual life of Cedar Lake Elementary School. He contributes to the faith development of our students by leading Bible study classes, organizing Week of Prayer programs, and sharing spiritual messages during joint worship services. Pastor Giancarlo enjoys building meaningful relationships with students and is often seen spending time with them during physical education and recess. His warm and approachable presence helps create a strong connection between the church and the school community. In addition to his pastoral ministry, he faithfully serves as a member of the Cedar Lake Elementary School Board. Pastor Giancarlo is married to his wife, Tatiana, and together they are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Sofia and Giulia.
David Briton
School Janitor
Dave is our school Janitor. He loves Jesus and want to help those who are in need.
Kaitlin Bodinet
Teacher's Aide
Mrs.B serves as the K–3 Teacher Aide at Cedar Lake Elementary School. She supports classroom instruction by assisting the teacher and helping students stay engaged in their learning throughout the day. Kaitlin enjoys working with young learners and contributes to creating a positive, caring, and supportive classroom environment. Her dedication and willingness to help wherever needed make her a valued member of the Cedar Lake Elementary team.
